System of state authority bodies of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra is established by the Autonomous Okrug independently in accordance with the fundamentals of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation and general principles of organization of the state authority bodies of the subjects of the Russian Federation as specified by the federal law.

System of state authority bodies consists of the following:

• Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra - legislative (representative) body - the superior constantly acting and the only body of legislative power of the Autonomous Okrug;
• Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra - the superior official of the Autonomous Okrug;
• Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - the superior state body of executive power of the Autonomous Okrug;
• Other executive bodies of state power of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra;
• State bodies of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra.
