The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Today participants of the VII Okrug Reindeer Herders’ Congress were coming to Khanty-Mansiysk.

50 delegates (eight – women) and also representatives of the Okrug Government and Duma, Assembly of the Northern Indigenous Peoples and organization “Ugra Salvation”, reindeer farms “Saranpaulski”, “Kazymski” and private reindeer farms of the Districts – Surgutski, Beloyarski, Nizhnevartovski, Khanty-Mansiyski, Berezovski, representatives of these municipalities, and of the oil-producing companies “LUKoil-ZapadnayaSibir” and “Surgutneftegaz”, which work there, will participate in the Congress.

The Congress will have to work out the recommendations for the government  about the  increase efficiency of the state support for reindeer herding, implementation of the regional legislation in this sphere, determination of methods of partnerships between reindeer herders and oilmen. It will be made the presentation of the LUKoilcompany to be devoted to support of traditional branch for the Northerners.

The Okrug Reindeer Herders’Council  will be opened tomorrow at 10 a.m. Today in the evening the children’s preforming group from the Children’s Ethno-cultural and educational center “Lylyngsoyum” and youth folk performing group “Echo of Native Land” will perform for the Congress participants and guests on the stage of the exhibition center “Ugra-Expo”.

Committee for Social and Political Analysis and Public Relations of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Governor’s Administration  held an opinion poll for the topic: “Charity activities in Ugra”.109 experts from 19 big municipalities of the Okrug participated in the research.

Sociologists were interested in one item: which measures will promote to the development of charity in the region?

It was found out that most part of the experts believe that it is necessary to hold  outreach and awareness-raising work among the population in Ugra and  wide recognition of people, involved in charity activities.

In experts’ opinion, an important measure in the development of charity is improvement of the legislation in Ugra. Organizing charity actions, training course for people about basic knowledge of charity, encouragement  of those who are ready to help people who are in need, and all that will  promote to the development of charity and patronship in the region.
