The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On March 16-18 in Saint Petersburg it will be held the Scientific Symposium "Heterostructures: fundamental researches and innovational prospects", devoted to the 80-th anniversary of the Noble Prize laureate, Academician Jores Alferov.

While the event it will be held the awarding ceremony: the famous researcher’s foundation scholarship  holders  will be awarded with diplomas. Students who represent the Surgut State University, Nizhnevartovsk Pedagogical University and Ugra State University are honored to   get diplomas from the Academician.

The Foundation for Science and Education Support was founded by the Noble Prize laureate Jores Alferov in 2001 to unite intellectual, financial and organizational efforts of Russian and foreign partners to promote to Russian science.

From 2003 eight most successful students from three universities of the region have been chosen in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug annually. The Academic Council of the Ugra Research Institute of Information Technologies submits their candidacies to the Foundation to be approved as   scholarship holders. In accordance with the Provisions students of senior classes who are possessed of excellent knowledge and marks  (according to the results  of the last academic year) and also have great achievements in  research activities, can be candidates for getting a diploma.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

The Ugra Oversnow – Cross Open Championships starts at the "Ugra-Athletic" Stadium on March 13 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Based on the information of the Technical Sport Center, the competitions will be held to popularize this sport in the Okrug, to preserve traditions, to increase skills and to  involve the population into motor sport.

The best athlete of the first stage among professionals will be determined according to the results of two drives by snow vehicles. Their parameters are specified. Amateurs will compete by any kind of this transport. The absolute winner will be chosen according to the results of scores in three stages of the Championships.

The second stage will take place on April 10 in Nefteyugansk, the third one – on April 17 in Khanty-Mansiysk.
