The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On February 18 the US Vice-Consul in Yekaterinburg Christophe Van Bebber will arrive at Ugra.

He intends to get acquainted with the regional center, to meet with representatives of the Okrugexecutive authorities, divisions of the federal migration service, administration of the town of Khanty-Mansiysk.

Vice-Consul will visit the Ugra State University where  he will make  negotiations with the First pro-rector of the university Tatyana Karminskayaand will have a meeting with students of the university. They will talk about opportunities of training and internships in the USAm conditions and terms of the participation in the students’ exchange international program Work & Travel USA.

Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko made orders to hold the meeting of the Road Builders’ Intergovernmental  Council Working Group  in  Khanty-Mansiysk on February 17.

The participants will discuss the issue about the prolongation of the road-transport corridor which goes on the territory of the Autonomous Okrug–Petropavlovsk (Kazakhstan)  - Tyumen-Surgut-NovyUrengoi-Nadym-Salekhard and its joining the network of CIS international highways.

Builders from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirgiz Republic, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Moldova, Italy, Slovakia, Russia, researchers of the International Transport Academy and Siberian Road-Transport Academy, experts of the Road Builders’ Intergovernmental Council will arrive at the Ugra capital.

The meeting will start at 11.00 a.m. at the Concert and Theatre Complex “Ugra-Classic”.

On February 18 in Khanty-Mansiysk it will be held the expanded meeting “Application and development of cell technologies in Ugra”. Researchers and experts of the top medical centers of Moscow, St.Petersburg – Institute of Children’s Hematology and Transplantology named after R. Gorbacheva, Institute of Hematology andTransfusiology of the Federal medical and biological agency, Research Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. They will discuss the development of the branch, prospects for fruitful cooperation with colleagues from the Regional Healthcare Department and Ugra Research Institute of Cell Technologies.

The Ugra Research Institute of Cell Technologies was founded in 2009 to form the data bank of stem cells and to apply permitted methods of the treatment with the use of cell technologies at the regional medical centers.

At present the institute  makes researches in medical and genetic expertise of the Northern indigenous peoples. Besides, scientists prepare the research basis for the cooperation with theNeurophysiology Institute of the Cologne University.

Much attention is paid to the formation of the stem cells data bank to be created in the region in the near two years and will correspond to the international standards. It will promote to increase of the quality and efficiency of treatment. In Ugra the procedure on transplantation of stem cells will be free of charge, as in Europe one dose of stem cells for transplantation costs approximately 20 ths. Euro.

After the discussion of the joint plan of the work by famous researchers from St.Petersburg and Moscow experts of the Institute will study the use of stem cells in the most important spheres of medicine. This topic is extremely important for Khanty-Mansiysk where a large oncological center is expected to be opened.
