Yesterday in Yekaterinburg Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko participated in the meeting of the “Bolshoi Ural” Interregional association Council. While the meeting with the participation of Plenipotentiary representative of the RF President in the Urals Federal District Nikolai Vinnichenko, governors and representatives of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Kurgan Regions, Perm Krai, Udmurtia, Bashkortostan, there was a discussion about the situation in economy, implementation of anti-crisis measures, coordinated actions to overcome negative consequences of the crisis.

In his speech Governor of Ugra emphasized that the financial crisis had made serious corrections into the social and economic development of the region. “But in spite of the reduction of investments by 17 %, revenues reduction by half of the expected scopes, expenses by 40 % this year all preferences were preserved in the Autonomous Okrug and even new ones were introduced as state guarantees, subsidies for production and etc.”

“This year 6 billion rubles were given as state guarantees for loans and about 4 billion of this amount was received. They have been spent to support construction sector and mortgage programs. The financial support of the real sector of economy will amount to over 28 billion rubles”, - emphasized Alexander Filipenko. Based on the official data, the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug is still one of the most stable and competitive – basic regions of the Russian Federation.

At the same time Governor expressed doubt – why do the statistics bodies include the data of the social and economic development of the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug into the indicators of the Tyumen Region? In his opinion it is incorrect in term of the constituent entity of the Russian Federation. By the way, so the Tyumen Region uses indicators of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

At the Council meeting it was made  a decision about Ugra and Yamal’s  joining the Interregional association “Bolshoi Ural” as equal-in-rights members. Before that both regions had an observer  status.
