The winners and laureates of the XIII International Festival of TV Programs and TV Films “Golden Drum”  have been announced in Khanty-Mansiysk.

 The Grand Prix winner is the documentary “I am genius Nikolai Glazkov” by the studio “Russkiy Put” (Moscow).

President of the Festival Lyubov Korneeva said that over 300 films and programs and their authors – representatives of 154 companies and studios from 60 towns of the world in 9 nominations  competed for the right to become laureates of the TV Forum. She congratulated and thanked guests and participants, members of the Jury and Expert Council, sponsors and especially the organizers’ team for wonderful conduct of the event.

The winners of the “Golden Goddess” statuettes and money prize are:

  • short documentary “Russian Glory” by script-writer, film director, cameraman and sound-producer Tofik Shaverdiev (Moscow) – nomination “National character”;
  • short documentary “Nomad camp “Khoroto” by script-writer, film director Lyubov Anagurichi (Nadym) – nomination “Ethnography and travels”;
  • experimental film “Two or Three Things it would be Great to know about her…” by Nikolai Makarov (Saint-Petersburg) – nomination “Scientific and popular film”;
  • TV magazine “Youth Forum” by Krasnoyarsk Krai Center of Youth Projects “LIDER” (Krasnoyarsk) – nomination “Under 16 years and older”;
  • Film “Outcome” from the cycle “We brought Russia with us” by TV company “MIRIAM-Media”  (Moscow) – nomination “History and Culture”;
  • Documentary “Fathers and children of the Perm Krai” by TV group “Media Alliance” (Perm) – nomination “Social and political journalism”;
  • Film “Outcome” by script-writer and film director Almaguli Menlibaeva (Germany) – nomination “Art-video”;
  • Film “Silence” by script-writer and film director Larisa Naumova (Ukraine) – nomination “TV portrait”;
  • Documentary “Make me, God” by script-writer and film director Elena Lobacheva-Dvoretskaya (Yaroslavl) – nomination “Documentary”.

Alexei Burykin (Moscow) is awarded for the best work as film director in the documentary “Marilyn Monroe, Anthony Quinn and others: stars factory by Mikhail Chekhov”. The best script was made for the film “Gagarin’s smile” by Natalia Gugueva and Arcadi Kogan (Moscow).Alexander Filippov (Saint Petersburg) won a statuette for the best cameraman’s work in the documentary “Nyarma”.

The students’ jury awarded a short documentary “Father” by script writer and film director Konstantin Davydkin (Zhukovski). A special prize of the Festival for conveying an image of  the Northerner was given to the film “Scream on the wind” by script-writer and film director Katya Gavriloff (Finland).

The film director of the TV and radio company “Spektr+” Irina Golovanova (Urai) got the prize for the personal contribution into the development of the television of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

Today the International Congress of UNESCO Chairs on Education for Sustainable Development, organized by the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and active participation of the Ministry of Education and Science and Government of the Autonomous Okrug.

Representatives of about seventy  Russian and foreign universities and UNESCO chairs from almost all the continents of the world arrived at Khanty-Mansiysk for the forum continents. The Chair “Dynamics of Environment and Climate Global Changes” of the Ugra State University is one of the youngest UNESCO chairs – it was opened in December of 2008. For the last 8 years the cooperation between Ugra and UNESCO (UN Organization for Education, Science and Culture) has been actively developing. In March of 2007 the office of the RF Commission for UNESCO was opened in Khanty-Mansiysk. Several events, educational-social projects have been implemented under the aegis of UNESCO.

Chair of the Congress, Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair, rector of the Russian Academy of the Public Administration at the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Egorov said that the choice of Khanty-Mansiysk as the venue of the Forum will give an opportunity not just to discuss in theory but also to  look  in practice how problems of sustainable development and ecology are solved including via education in Russia.

Director of UNESCO Office in Moscow Dendev Badarch expressed sincere gratitude to Governor of the Okrug for the hospitable reception of the Congress participants and said that the leaders of his organization was well aware of the attention, paid by the Government of the Okrug to education for sustainable development, for example, the international environmental initiative “To Save and to Protect”, held by Ugra.

In his welcoming speech Governor Alexander Filipenko expressed confidence that the issues of education would be more and more meaningful for the further development of the society, culture and economy.

He paid attention to the fact that the regional economy was based mainly on nature resources management what needs environmentally friendly technologies and attitude. Alexander Filipenko expressed confidence that the results of the Congress would mutually beneficial for guests and hosts of the Forum, enrich them with new experience of solving problems of education and sustainable development.

There were received welcoming letters from Chair of the RF Commission for UNESCO, RF Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, RF Minister of Education and Science Andre Fursenko, UNESCO Deputy Director General  for Education Nicolas Barnet.  All of them wished the conference would strengthen the role of chairs in the development of long-term programs on problems of sustainable development, accessible and high-quality education.

Today the organizers of the International Congress of UNESCO Chairs on Education for Sustainable Development held a briefing for journalists.

Secretary of the RF Commission for UNESCO Grigory Ordzhonikidze said that the Ugra Government had made great preparatory work, Okrug Governor  who is a member of the Commission, actively participates in its activities. The Khanty-Mansiysk Congress will become a milestone in the UNESCO activities as it is the first forum of UNESCO chairs.

Director of UNESCO Office in Moscow Dendev Badarch  has come to Ugra for third time. He thinks that the international network of chairs would be created as a result of the Congress. It will make it possible to coordinate their activities and to exchange experience.

Governor, Chairperson of the office of the RF Commission for UNESCO in Ugra Alexander Filipenko assured that all the best what has been accumulated in the region according to the agenda would be demonstrated to the guests: “In Ugra there are people of 124 nationalities. It is the region of indigenous Northern peoples – Khanty and Mansi. If to speak about education,  we have formed all this complex in the region – from pre-school education to higher professional education. We have environmental protection experience. As our economy is based on nature resources management, we have to  worry about nature and to take care of it”.

Vladimir Egorov, rector of the Russian Academy of the Public Administration at the President of the Russian Federation, Chair of the Coordination  Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation, supported the position of Ugra Governor that only  jointly with science, education and ecology it is possible to respond to challenges, faced by Russia and world. The Organizing Committee prepared the draft Khanty-Mansiysk Declaration. After discussions and adoption it will become an official document. Recommendations, made while the Congress in field of education, environment protection, will be published as well.

The preparation for hosting the World Chess Cup and World Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk was discussed by Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko and First Vice-President of FIDE Georgios Macropolus and Honorary Vice-President of FIDE Izrael Gelfer. The other participants of the meeting are FIDE President’s Assistant Berik Balgabaev, President of the Ugra Chess Federation Vasili Filipenko, Director of the Center of Promotion to the World Chess Olympiad Alexander Gerber and Director General of the JSC “UgraIntersport Nikolai Bondarev.

Mr. Macropolus said: “I have no doubts regarding the readiness of the town for hosting the World Cup. I know that you have great experience in hosting events of the highest level. I am confident that these competitions for the World Cup will be held even better that the first Cup to be held several years ago”.

He informed that the FIDE team got acquainted in detail with the construction of a hotel for the Olympiad participants. He said that FIDE was ready to cooperate actively with the Autonomous Okrug Government.

The head of the region emphasized that the members of the Organizing Committee would make serious work but they would do their best for the World Chess Olympiad to be a success; all necessary conditions will be created for sportsmen and guests. He expressed gratitude to FIDE for support and understanding, help in the preparation of the World Chess Olympiad.

The FIDE Congress and Executive Committee will be held in October in Khalkidiki (Greece) where the delegation of the Autonomous Okrug will make a report about the work done.
