The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
On September 14 the XIII International Festival of TV
programs and films “Golden Drum” will start in Khanty-Mansiysk.
President of the Festival Lyubov Korneeva said that “it
is the only Forum in Russia of historic-educational and ethnographic
character. The festival tells every year about the history of
television development, about life and culture of peoples and
countries via documentaries and TV programs, unique TV portraits tell
about talented people, journalists tell about the present, artists
tell about their vision via art-video”.
In 2009 303 works were submitted to the contest in 9
nominations. 154 TV companies and studios from 69 towns participate in
the contest including studios from Udmurts Republic, Komi Republic,
Dagestan, Chuvashia, Bashkortostan, Khakasia, Karelia, Tatarstan. The
nominations of the Festival: documentary, history and culture,
ethnography and travels, art-video, children’s program – contest films
and programs were submitted by studios and creative teams from
Armenia, Byelorussia, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Finland, USA, Czech
Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Netherlands, Kirgiz. Their
total timing – 17225 minutes or 287 hours. Totally – 67 candidates for
10 awards – “Golden Goddesses”.
The Jury and Expert Council members: professor of the
University Paris-Sorbonna (Paris-IV) Helene Melat, film director,
cameraman, president of the Documentaries Guild of Finland
Leena-Stiina Kilpelainen, director of the Science-Popular programs
Direction of Channel 1 Andrei Tsvintarny, film director, documentary
maker, laureate of the State prizes Igor Shadkhan, TV analyst and
consultant, teacher at the Mass Media Institute Andrei Tsitovski, TV
journalist and film director Viktor Jouravlev. The Chair of the Expert
Council – a famous film director, producer and script-writer Evgeniya
Golovnya. The Chair of the Festival International Jury – film
director, president of the Russian Non-Fiction Films Guild Vladimir
Gerchikov.
The opening ceremony of the Festival will be held on
September 14 at 6.00 p.m. at the cinema hall of the Picture Gallery,
Foundation of Generations. The ceremony will be finished with the
demonstration of the documentary “MINA” (Iran).
On September 14-16 daily everyone can watch the best
documentaries on-line at the cinema hall of the Picture Gallery and
film and video center “Cinema-Profi”.
The cinema hall of the Nature and Man Museum on
September 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. till 5.00 p.m. will demonstrate the
out-of-contest program, organized by the Non-Fiction Films Guild of
Russia. On September 16 from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. there will a special
demonstration of films of the international festival “The other
dimension” about people with limited abilities.
At the conference-hall of the Cathedral there will be
demonstrated contest Orthodox films and press-conferences with film
directors Sergei Potemkin and Olga Lobacheva-Dvoretskaya.
The conference-hall “Palace” will gather the Festival
participants for discussions and presentations. On September 15 it
will be held the discussion “Youth and community. Common and
different” and out-of-contest film “In Moving” of independent
producers. Leaders of youth movements will be invited.
The Festival will be finished on September 16 with the
awarding ceremony of winners at the Center of Arts for Gifted Children
of the North. The Festival Grand-Prix will be given to the best of the
best and special prize “For personal contribution into development of
television of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug” will be given by
Governor of Ugra, chair of the “Golden Drum” Festival Organizing
Committee Alexander Filipenko.
