The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko discussed with Deputies Chairman of the Government Viktor Krivykh, Viktor Bets, Alexei Safiollin and Director of the Chess Olympiad Support Alexander Gerber the preparation for holding the 39-th World Chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk in 2010.

There were considered issues, connected with the accommodation of participants and guests of this most prestigious chess event, preparedness of the airport in the Ugra capital for a great number of participants, fans and tourists while the Olympiad.

Besides, at the meeting it was discussed the issue about the state and prospects of the individual housing construction development in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko received a letter from Consul General, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary  Envoy of the Kirgiz Republic Turdali Orozbaev. On behalf of the Consulate General he expresses sincere gratitude for the support in holding the election of President of the Kirgiz Republic on July 23.

Consul wished the head of the Autonomous Okrug good health, long life, happiness and success for the benefit of the Motherland.

The Kirgiz  expat community in Ugra is 3864 voters and due to technical and organizational support of the regional authorities and Surgut election campaign they had an opportunity to vote for their national leader.  105547 voters all over Russia participated in the election what is 82,49 % form the registered. 51,95 % voted for the present President of Kirgistan Kurmanbek Bakiev.

President of the U-Arctic Lars Kullerud thanked Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko for the support in preparation and hosting the Rectors’ Forum which was held in Russia for the first time.

Rectors of higher educational institutions, government and businessmen discussed problems in the formation of educational policy, interaction of the universities and regional government and industry and business strategic partnerships system to train competitive experts who are needed in northern regions.

Lars Kullerud expressed gratitude to the head of the region for valuable contribution into development of the Association, hospitality and attentive attitude to guests and participants. He also hopes for further fruitful cooperation.

The UArctic Rectors’ Forum was held in Khanty-Mansiysk on June 3-5.

On September 11 in the frames of the events, devoted to the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Employees, the exhibition of technical kinds of sport will be held on the central square of Khanty-Mansiysk.

People and guests of the Okrug center will be able to see expositions of motorcycle technique, cartings, models of aircrafts and field arbalests.

The program includes demonstration of radio-managed motor cars, cartings, figure driving by bicycle, strike-ball tournament. The event will be finished with a balloon rise.

The hosts are Government of the Autonomous Okrug and Autonomous Institution “Center of Technical Kinds of Sport”.
