The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Today in the second half of the day Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko will participate in the meeting, chaired in Tyumen by Vice Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Sergei Sobyanin.

The approaches for the formation of budgets of all levels for the next year, inter-budgetary relations in 2010-2011 under conditions of the federal budget expenses optimization are expected to be discussed.

The head of the region will make a  report at the meeting about his vision of problems in the formation of regional and municipal budgets in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The delegation of Ugra, headed by the representative of the Autonomous Okrug in the Council of Federation of the RF Federal Assembly Gennadi Oleynik, participated  in the IX Northern Forum General Assembly to be held at the beginning of September in Canada (Whitehorse, Yukon).

The Forum is represented by 9 regions from 6 countries: Canada, China, Korea, Russia, Finland and Japan. Mmber-regions of the international non-governmental association discussed the strategic plan of the organization improvement, listened reports about the implementation of programs, had workshops about regional cooperation and sustainable development of settlements.

While the meeting Canadian territories Yukon and Nunavut were elected co-chairs for 2010-2011. Vice-Chairs are appointed the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Sakha Republic (Yakutia), provinces Gangwon (Korea Republic), Heilongjiang (China).

Summing up the results, the participants of the General Assembly expressed gratitude to Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko for effective activities as Chair of the Northern Forum in 2005-2009. The final document of the IX General Assembly was the adopted Whitehorse Declaration, where the results of the Association activities for the last three years were summed up and goals for the coming two years were worded.

On September 11 and 12 at the Concert and Theatre Center “Ugra-Classic” it will be held the exhibition-fair “Town of Masters”.

Its key goal – to sell souvenirs and items of decorative and applied art, to get people acquainted with creativity of regional craftsmen. The organizers of the event are the Okrug institution “Center of folk art crafts” and Regional non-commercial foundation of Ugra folk art and crafts support.

Craftsmen of folk and decorative and applied art, art groups, creative families, who work with textile, colored beads, ceramics, painting and photography, pottery will participate in the Fair.
