The Okrug Governor’s
press-service informs:
Minister of Sport, Tourism
and Youth Policy Vitali Mutko thanked Governor of Ugra Alexander
Filipenko for the preparation of sportsmen for the XXI Summer Deaf
Olympic Games to be held on September 05-15, 2009 in Taipei (Taiwan).
It is said in the text of the
letter that the great contribution to the victory of the combined
team of Russia was made by sportsmen from the Khanty-Mansiysk
Autonomous Okrug who won 3 medals. Vladimir Shmygin and Pavel Fatin
became volleyball champions. Maxim Bgan won a silver medal in
track-and-field. "We hope that our further cooperation in the sphere
of adaptive physical culture and sport development will let us be the
leader in the international sports movement of deaf people raising
the authority of Russia in the world community", - emphasized Vitali
Mutko.
He also said that with the
support of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Russia the issue about
awarding sportsmen and their coaches with financial prizes according
to the results of the Deaf Olympic Games (equal to the prizes for
participants of the Olympic and Paralympic Games).
About 2,5 ths. sportsmen from 80
countries of the world participated in the XXI Summer Deaf Olympic
Games. For the first time in the history Russia was the first among
teams of other countries having won 98 medals (29 gold, 41 silver and
28 bronze medals).

The Okrug Governor’s

The
Czech concern "CKD GROUP, a.s." is going to implement several
large-scale projects in Ugra. Chair of
the Board, Director General of the concern Yan Musil said about that.
Governor of the Autonomous Okrug
Alexander Filipenko at the meeting with the Czech delegation said
about great potential of the region. He proposed to organize a plant
in Ugra, based on the concern’s technologies and its engineer support
but taking into account the possibilities of the Autonomous Okrug.
Director General of the concern
said that the enterprise was interested in long-term and partner
relations to involve local companies and labor force of the region
into concrete projects.
The Czech concern also is going
to open its office in Ugra to promote to more productive and closer
cooperation with the region. The enterprise works in Russia and
participates in construction, modernization and development of energy
and housing - communal sector facilities. In spite of the crisis all
the projects of the concern are financially supported by the Czech
Export Bank.

In the frames of the of the I
All-Russia forum "Russia -a sport country" to be held in Kazan on
October 22-24 Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko was handed an
Olympic Chess torch. This flame was lit up for the first time and
now the tradition will be continued as in 2010 Khanty-Mansiysk will be
the venue of the World Chess Olympiad. This symbolic start to the
Russian sports movement will be followed by students’ games in Kazan
in2013 and Olympiad in Sochi in 2014.
The chairman of the Okrug
Committee for Physical Culture and Sport Viktor Maygurov and Director
of the institution "UgraMegaSport" informed journalists from Ugra
about that at the press-conference.
The sports forum in Kazan
gathered over 3 ths. participants including over 20 governors of the
RF regions, representatives of the federal government.
The main goal of Ugra
participation at this Forum was to promote the region as a
dynamically-developing sports territory. The example for that is
hosting in Khanty-Mansiysk the World Chess Olympiad in autumn of 2010
and Biathlon World Championships in 2011.
Viktor Maygurov said that
President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev highly assessed the regional
government’s activities in the development of sport in the region and
promised to assist in the preparation of coming events. He also
emphasized that in November in Khanty-Mansiysk it would be held the
meeting of the Organizing Committee with the participation of
President of the Chess Federation in Russia, Deputy Chairman of the RF
Government Alexander Zhukov and representatives of the RF Ministry of
Sport. The main issue will become the discussion of the readiness for
the coming Olympiad.

At
the XXI All-Russia Championships for Bodybuilding, Fitness and
Body-Fitness (teams, Individual) to be held in Khanty-Mansiysk last
week-end Ugra athletes won 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
Ugra hosted the national
tournament for the first time. The tournament gathered 200 top
athletes from 34 Russian regions. 22 sportsmen from Ugra participated
in the competitions.
The golden medals were won by
Radmila Alieva, Alina Shamsumukhametova in the category "Bodyfitness-juniors",
"Fitness-girls". Our sportsmen Anna Zubrilina and Yulia Postika won
silver medals in the same categories. Among juniors in body-fitness a
bronze medal was won by Eva Dolgopolova. Radmila Alieva was the third
by the results of her performances in the category "Bodyfitness - over
168 cm".
Among
men the best results were demonstrated by Rustam Gasanagaev - the
second position in the category "Bodybuilding-men under 90 kg" and
Ildar Akhmetzyanov - the third in the category "Classical bodybuilding
under 180 cm". The winners of the XXI All-Russia Championships for
Bodybuilding, Fitness and Body-Fitness will defend Russia at the
World Championships among juniors and veterans (Poland) and World
Men’s Championship (Qatar).
The competitions caused great
interest of townsmen and guests of the town. Tribunes of the Tennis
Sport Development Center while two days were overcrowded. Over 20 ths.
people from 62 countries including Belgium, USA, China, Ukraine
watched on-line with comments by the Absolute European Champion,
Repeated Champion of Russia Pavel Kirilenko.
The level of organizing the
tournament was highly assessed by President of the Fitness and
Bodybuilding Federation of Russia Vladimir Dubinin. He said that
Khanty-Mansiysk can become the venue of the World Fitness and
Bodybuilding Championship or European Championships. Vladimir Dubinin
awarded Kirill Morozov, President of the Fitness and Bodybuilding
Federation of Ugra, with a gold medal of the International Fitness and
Bodybuilding Federation for the development of bodybuilding.
