The Okrug Governor’s
press-service informs:
On December 1 the
International Tennis Tournament ATP Challenger Tour will be started in
Khanty-Mansiysk.
The competitions will be held at
the Center of Tennis Sport Development, its total area is over 15,5
ths. sq.m and 7 courts with special cover will be at the disposal of
sportsmen and tribunes for 3,5 ths. spectators.
Based on the information of the
Tournament Director Pavel Shestakov, the competitions will be held in
accordance with the Olympic system until one defeat. Tennis players
from Russia, Germany, Spain, Slovakia, France, Czech Republic, Serbia
and USA confirmed their participation in the tournament. Each of 32
sportsmen will play two games as minimum but the winner of men’s
tournament should win five matches. "It is the first tennis
tournament of such level to be held in the Autonomous Okrug. Such
competitions were held only in Moscow", - emphasized Pavel Shestakov.
"Khanty-Mansiysk is possessed of
great experience of hosting international competitions. I am confident
that this tournament will be held on the highest organizational
level", - said President of the Ugra Tennis Federation Gandj Amirov.
Ugra will be represented at the
international tournament by four tennis players: Vladislav Shamin,
Ruslan Bekoev, Sergei Pushnikov and Timur Abinov. The qualifying
competitions will start on November 29.
The Association of Tennis
Professionals, ATP was created in 1972 to defend and represent
interests of professional tennis players. The tournaments of ATP level
Challenger Series are held for sportsmen - beginners.

The Okrug Governor’s

On December 10-12 in
Khanty-Mansiysk there will be held the XIV exhibition-fair
"Commodities of Ugra" in the frames of the celebration of the
Autonomous Okrug anniversary.
Over 120 companies of the region
are expected to participate in the regional fair.
In the frames of the business
program there will be held seminars and meetings, round tables,
devoted to the development of timber and agribusiness sectors, state
support and social responsibility of business, improvement of inner
food market. There will be organized the consultative center,
tourist salon and stock exchange of business contacts.
Besides, while three days
representatives of tourist industry will be able to attend training
courses of upgrading in psychology and technologies of tourist product
effective sales.
A cultural program will be
offered to the exhibition visitors: presentations of the Okrug
municipalities, performances, fashion show.

On December 8 in Moscow it
will beheld the presentation of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug
for embassies of foreign countries. The event is to be held in the
frames of the celebration of the 79-th anniversary of Ugra.
Ambassadors of European
countries, countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, members of
international organizations and foreign business community,
representatives of federal authorities will participate in the
Presentation to be held at the Grand Mansion of Russia’s Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. High guests will get acquainted with success of the
region’s social and economic development, will tell about the role of
Ugra in Russian economy. The format of the event includes speeches by
RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov and Governor of the
Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko.
The key goal of the Presentation
- to promote to economic interests of the Autonomous Okrug via
attracting attention of representatives of foreign embassies and
foreign partners to prospects of its development, investment and
innovational potential. At the Presentation the discussion will be
devoted to opportunities of cooperation among enterprises of fuel and
energy and agribusiness complexes, wood-working industry, banking
sector, research organizations.

On November 30 the motor
rally to towns of Ugra will start and be devoted to the World Boxing
Cup among oil-producing companies.
In the frames of the motor rally
the World and European Champions, prize-winners of the Olympic Games
Alexander Maletin, Evgeni Makarenko, Maxim Makhinin, Honored coaches
of Russia Vasili Volf, Vasili Zhirov will hold friendly meetings and
master-classes with sportsmen and fans of this sport. Each participant
will get a certificate and souvenirs of the World Cup with champions’
autographs. President of the Regional Boxing Federation Alexei
Safiollin said that the key goal of the motor rally - to attract
attention of Ugra population to the coming large-scale sport event and
popularize boxing in the Autonomous Okrug.
The motor rally will be started
in Nizhnevartovsk at 11.00 a.m. from the central square of the town.
First the participants of the motor rally will leave for Surgut and
Pyt-Yakh. Then after a short stop in Khanty-Mansiysk the rally will go
to the west - Mezhdurechenski, Yugorsk, Sovetski, Priobye. The "trip"
will be finished in the regional center on December 5. Here on
December 16-21 for the first time in the history of boxing development
in Ugra it will be held the World Boxing Cup among oil-producing
countries and will be devoted to Hero of Socialist Labor Farman
Salmanov.
Based on the information of the
Organizing Committee, 11 countries confirmed their participation in
the World Cup including Russia, USA, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,
Byelorussia, Latvia, France. The top boxers of the national and
regional combined teams will defend the honor of our country.
