The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Today on November 18 at 12.00 it will be held the press-conference of the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko in the editorial office of the "Moskovski Komsomolets" newspaper.

Governor will tell about the development of the oil and gas sector of Ugra, traditions and innovations of the region.

The results of social and economic development of the Okrug in 2009, influence of the crisis on the results of oil production, gas production and electric energy generation, tendencies in social development of the region are expected to be discussed.

Governor intends to tell about how the government manages to constraint the unemployment rate growth, problem of indebtedness in salary payments, if the socially-oriented budget would be preserved under the conditions of the crisis, about important events to be held in the region next year.

The number of tourists who decide to spend New Year and Christmas holidays in Ugra this year, is expected on the level of the previous year.

Today at the press-conference it was declared by Chairman of the Tourism Committee Valeri Bespoyasko. He said that next week it would be published a new new catalogue including a calendar of events for winter 20010 and tours around towns of Ugra.

Under the conditions of the financial crisis the tourists’ number to the region has been decreased but almost 129 ths. tourists have been registered in hotels and sanatoriums of the region for the first half of 2010.

"Today in the region there is permanent monitoring of the branch by basic indicators, comparison of process for tourist services, hotel staff  training", - emphasized Valeri Bespoyasko. "In 16 municipalities of the Autonomous Okrug there are 26 offices. Over 100 tourist programs and 69 tours are offered to people and guests of Ugra".

Special attention is paid to chief and short-term  tours, week-end tours, family and children rest: "In the frames of social tourism we organize charity tours for veterans, disable people, orphans. Over 60 ths. children and teenagers, almost 10 ths. students and over 24,5 ths. families  accepted our proposals while the summer campaign. Totally 94,4 ths. people were provided with organized forms of rest".

This year for the first time in the region it was held two hours’ on-line conference where the Tourism Committee, Healthcare department, insurance company  and Rospoterbnadzor jointly answered questions of people.

Based on the data of the Regional Tourism Committee, there are 110 tourist companies in the region. The federal register of tourist operators of financial guarantee  includes 17 tourist operators, 10 of them are involved in international tourism as well. This year less Ugra people go to Europe but cheap tours to Egypt, Turkey and Tunis are more popular.
