The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Today guests from all the municipalities of the region, other constituent entities of the RF, deputies of the State Duma, representatives of the region in the Federal Assembly, veterans and other invitees have come to Khanty-Mansiysk to participate in the events, devoted to the 79-th anniversary of Ugra.

For several years the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug has ranked the leader among regions of the Russian Federation by basic economic para,eters. Even now - difficult economic and financial time, companies of the region actively work for the Russian economy  - about 9 % of the industrial output and 16 % of the budget revenues.

There have been implemented programs in social, transport industries, technological infrastructure, new industries and development of new facilities.

Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko addressed to the countrymen: "Indeed we learnt much and this experience is invaluable and it lets us make plans with confidence if consequent, systematic modernization and technological renewal of all the production infrastructure, diversification of our economy structure. The key goal of our policy - to give high-quality life to people and multilateral dynamic development of the region in the future."

"The life in the region - not just success in economy, development of nature resources but also high sports achievements, prosperous science, art, culture, belief in our mighty, joy of creativity. I am sincerely grateful to you, my countrymen, for honest work, understanding, support and confidence in success, for aspiration to preserve and multiply all we have achieved for the benefit of the region, in sake of Russia’s prosperity", - said Governor.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On December 12 in the frames of the "Goods of Ugra" exhibition-fair to be held in Khanty-Mansiysk on December 10-12 there will be held the awarding ceremony of the winners of the contest "The Best Exporter of Ugra-2009" of non-petroleum sector.

The contest is organized by the Okrug Committee of External Relations to encourage the growth of export, to increase the competitive ability of production (goods, works, services) of companies and organizations of the region on external markets, to expand the number of companies in the category of non-petroleum sector.

Three enterprises were allowed to participate in the contest - air company UTair, Ugra Timber Holding and Surgutmebel.

The winner of the contest will get the award and right to use the title "The Best Exporter of Ugra-2009" for advertising.

The awarding ceremony of the first contest "The Best Exporter of Ugra-2009" will be held on December 12 at 13.30 at the Congress - Exhibition Center "Ugra-Expo".

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

The famous US company EXIM Corporation is ready to cooperate with Ugra. Chair of the Board, Director General of the Corporation Dr. Miroslav Alexic at the meeting with Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko. The meeting was held at the Moscow office of Ugra on December 8.

The portfolio of the corporation includes development of the hotel business, construction, finances, investments, production and sale of metal-working presses, construction and anti-fire equipment. Two banks, several hotels all over the world belong to the corporation. Besides, the company has projects  in the sphere of energy resources and renewable energy including those for production of hydrogen and relevant equipment.  It also provides a wide range of services and technological solutions for oil refining industry, chemical industry, oil and gas sector.

The head of the region was interested in the proposals of the corporation director. In his opinion, they are of current interest for Ugra. Ugra’s priorities are modernization and diversification of economy structure. The most advanced technologies, proposed by the Corporation, can be applied in various spheres. The most interesting proposals are those in associate petroleum gas salvaging and processing, development of chemical facilities, energy saving and development of small power electric industry, tourism.

The First All-Russia Sledge-Hockey Championships was held in Moscow. It is the first championships in the history of Russian sport. Four teams from Moscow, Moscow Region, Izhevsk and Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra participate in the competitions.

The teams of Ugra and Moscow competed in the first historic match. The Ugra team won with the score 2:0. The first goal in the Russian sport history belongs to the sportsman of the Khanty-Mansiysk Center of Disable People’s Sport Andrei Myakishev.

"It is the first victory not just of the sportsman of the Khanty-Mansiysk Center of Disable People’s Sport but of the whole paralympic sport of Russia", - said Director of the Regional   Center of Disable People’ s Sport Eduard Isakov. "We hope that the championships will become an impulse to the successful development and promotion of the sledge-hockey in Russia and Ugra".

Sledge-hockey is a paralympic version of ice hockey. This sport was included into the program of the Winter Paralympic Games for the first time in 1994 in Lillehammer and since that time has become one of the most attractive sports of winter Olympiads.   In 2006 sportsmen from 12 countries participated in the sledge-hockey competitions.
