September 30, 2008 The Okrug Governor’s
press-service informs:
The basketball club "University - Ugra" became the winner of the
International Tournament for the Autonomous Okrug Governor’s Cup.
The decisive game for the first place was held on September 29 at
the Regional Center of Tennis Sport Development. The competitor of our
"University" team in the finale was the basketball club "Nikolaev" (Ukraine).
The score of the game was 96:71. "Both teams did not realize their
potential even by 50 % but the Ugra team did not have the right to be
a looser at home", - said President of the basketball club "University-Ugra".
The main award – Ugra Governor’s Cup – was given by Governor
Alexander Filipenko to the winner of the tournament. At the awarding
ceremony the head of the region said that had supported the idea to
hold these prestigious competitions in Ugra annually.
The third place was win by the team "Metallak" from Serbia in the
tournament which won the team "Atletas" from Lithuania.

Alexei Kalinin from Ugra won a bronze medal at the IV World
Championships of Fireguard and Rescue Sport, held in Bulgaria on
September 09-14.
The Honored Master of Sport of Russia from Surgut was the third in
climbing the fire attack ladder into the window of the fourth store of
the training towel with the result of 13,57 seconds. Besides, in the
combat deployment from the fire power pump Rozenbauer Vox – Alexei
Kalinin made a record of Russia.
According to the results of the competitions in the total score the
combined team of Russia was the second. Totally sportsmen from 22
countries participated at the World Championships.
It is very important that the athlete from Surgut won seven medals
at the European Championships among policemen and firemen where he
represented the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug within the combined
team of Russia. |
