Together with the Chair of the Journalists’ Union of Russia Vsevolod Bogdanov the head of the region opened the exposition of the mass media of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra and participated in the press-conference. Governor had to answer questions about economic potential of the Autonomous Okrug, implementation of social programs while an hour. Special attention was paid to the fact that in the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug it had been approved the law about life quality for the first time in Russia.

Besides, Alexander Filipenko held a working meeting with President of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio Oleg Poptsov where it was made a decision to organize the meeting of the Presidium of this professional public organization next year in Khanty-Mansiysk.

This year Ugra was represented at the Festival “All Russia” by the stands of the Regional TV and Radio company “Ugra”, Publishing house “Ugra News”, newspapers “Local time”, “Ugra tima”, journal “Ugra”, national printed editions “Khanty Yasang” and “Luima Seripos”.

The Festival will be finished on September 30. Governor of the Autonomous Okrug gave a task to relevant public authorities to represent the media world of Ugra in its diversity at the next Forum “All Russia”.

At the awarding ceremony in Moscow there were present the chair of the Tourism Committee of the Autonomous Okrug Valeri Bespoyasko and Acting Director of the company “Ugra Service” Svetlana Terekhova. The tourist company tried its forces in the nomination “The best regional tour operator in the sphere of inbound and outbound tourism”.

The National tourist prize named after Yu.Senkevich was founded by the Federal Tourism Agency in 2002. Its goal is to encourage achievements in the development of tourist industry, increase of service quality, encourage the development of cultural and cognitive, ecological and other kinds of tourism in the Russian Federation. In 2003 the prize was named after Yuri Senkevich, a famous traveler, researcher and journalist.

At present this prize is a prestigious, only non-profit award in the sphere of tourism. 160 applications from 77 populated localities from 46 constituent entities of the Russian Federation were submitted for this National prize. Moscow, Altai Krai, Karelia Republic, Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Region were especially active.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Okrug Government, President of the Basketball Club “University - Ugra” Vyacheslav Novitski also participated in the press-conference.

The members of the Olympic Committee of Russia emphasized that hosting such international events were of great importance not just for the region but also for Russia. In their opinion, such competitions formed the image of the country. Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of Russia Yuri Yuriev said about high level of technical support of the Okrug sports base in comparison with other regions of Russia.

Answering questions of journalists Vyacheslav Novitski said that such large-scale event in basketball was held for the first time in Ugra. Basketball is very popular among the population of the region, and in the rating is the second after swimming. At present 16,5 ths. Ugra people go in for basketball. The main “know-how” of these competitions is holding educational events: workshop for referees and coaches, where over 80 coaches from al the municipalities of the Autonomous Okrug participated and workshop for sports journalists.

The competitions were held at the Regional Center of Tennis Sport Development on September 28-29. The competitors of our team “University” in the International tournament were the teams “Atletas” (Lithuania), “Metallak” (Serbia) and “BK Nikolaev” (Ukraine). Two teams will compete for the title of the Champion who will be the winners as a result of the first day of the competitions. The rest two teams will compete for the third place.

For young basketball-players and fans the competitions organizers prepared an entertainment program with contests, lotteries of prizes and souvenirs with the symbols of the tournament and basketball club “University-Ugra” which will be held in the hall of the tennis center. Besides, all the fans will be able to assess the basketball-acrobat show, performed by the group “Bryg-brothers” (Perm) who performed many times at the matches of the Super-League and Euro-League.
