The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

The official web-site of the public authorities of the Khanty-Mansysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra was awarded with the Grand Prix of the Second Open contest for the best official site of the public authorities of the Urals Federal District "Public recognition".

Due to the letters of the Plenipotentiary representative of the RF President in the Urals Federal District Pter Latyshev the site of Surgut Town Administration was the second in the nomination "Official sites of the municipal authorities" and the information portal of Kogalym – the third.

The awarding ceremony of the winners of the contest "Public recognition" was held at the official opening ceremony of the International Forum of Information Technologies in Khanty-Mansiysk on September 24.

On September 24 in Khanty-Mansiysk it was held the opening ceremony of the Tennis Sport Development Center.

The official opening ceremony of the new sports facility which is without analogues in Russia regarding the capacity and size, was organized and held in the frames of the Russia’s Tennis Championships. The total area of the Center is 15558 sq.m, has seven courts with special cover. The central court with  tribunes for 3,5 spectators is universal. Here it is possible to hold competitions in many kinds of sport (in summer here it was held the game between the combine teams of Russia and South Korea in volleyball).

Governor said that it had been  achieved the agreement with the National Tennis Federation about holding another Russia’s Tennis Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk in 2009 and there were held negotiations about hosting a couple of international tournaments.

It is remarkable that while the All-Russia Tennis Championships the Cup of the Federation will be placed in the hall of the Tennis Sport Development Center.

This Cup was won by the combined team of our country  in September.

The Cup of the  Federation in tennis was delivered to the Ugra capital - Khanty-Mansiysk by the night flight from Moscow. In the intense competition with the Spanish tennis-players the women’s national combined team was for the fourth time. The unique cup was delivered by a special car of the Khanty-Mansiysk Bank to the storage. The Vice-President of the Russia’s Tennis Federation Vladimir Lazarev, President of   Ugra Tennis Federation Gadji Amirov met the Cup at the airport.

Today the Cup of the Federation will be displayed on the chief arena of the Tennis Center.

Gadji Amirov said: "It is a remarkable and significant event for young tennis-players who came to Khanty-Mansiysk to participate in the Championships. It is symbolic that the Cup was delivered on the day of the opening ceremony of the unique Tennis Center and opening of the All-Russia Championships. I am confident that this event will become an additional impulse for tennis development in Ugra".

Ugra people will the first in Russia who will see the Cup this year. The Cup was delivered from London to Khanty-Mansiysk by transit.
