Dear countrymen, dear Ugra people!

Nine billion tons of our oil is a historic milestone, significant event for the Autonomous Okrug and Russia in general. The biggest fuel and energy complex in the world was created, is effectively functioning and stably developing due to the efforts of several generations.

It is the result of the work of each of us – geologists, oilmen, builders, workers of transport sphere, teachers, doctors whose work, belief in success  made this day closer.

The Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug is obliged to your honest labor, persistence and talent. The development and application of advanced technologies, valuable experience, enthusiasm, devotion to the profession, bitterness of mistakes and joy of victories resulted in the extraction of the nine billion tons of oil.

Over half a century was needed for oilmen of Ugra to come closer to this event. Produced oil and gas are our new opportunities, new  roads, houses, schools, happy and worthy life of the Autonomous Okrug, guarantee of Russia’s national security.

 I congratulate you upon your professional holiday and sincerely thank veterans of oil and gas industry and those who work at oil and gas fields and  celebrate their great victory – production of the nine billionth ton of Ugra oil.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On Saturday on September 06 Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko will participate in the meeting of the State Council at the Russian Federation President in Moscow.

Dmitri Medvedev intends to consider and discuss the long-term federal program of   mass physical culture and high achievements sport development in Russia with the members of the State Council. In President’s opinion this program should become one of the elements of the country’s development Strategy till 2020.

"Hard labor of oilmen, gasmen, representatives of the branch science provide the expanded reproduction of hydrocarbon raw materials reserves, growth of oil and gas scope production. Accept my words of sincere gratitude for your contribution into economic development of the Russian Federation. Your high professionalism, energy and active position serve as guarantee of making successful decisions about complicated and large-scale problems, faced by the industry.  I congratulate you and all people of the region upon the holiday and wish oil and gasmen new achievements, good health, happiness and well-being".
