The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
Ugra is preparing to hold the summit "Russia to
European Union".
Commenting the Russian Federation President's
offering about holding of the summit "Russia to European Union" in
Khanty-Mansiysk in June of the next year, Ugra Governor Alexander
Filipenko stressed that certainly it is a honor and heavy
responsibilities. "A great number of mega events are held and have been
held in the Autonomous Okrug and Khanty-Mansiysk, but it is the first
time when such event is held.
We specify the necessary conditions, our
opportunities to provide successful work of the summit. Missions on
suggestions making of extra measures which guarantee us to provide its
holding, are set to the Government structures.
I'm grateful to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for this
offering. I'm sure that Ugra will make required atmosphere and working
conditions for participants and guests of so significant Forum".

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
On October 26, Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko
met with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the RF Federal
Assembly Sergei Mironov.
Issues of social and economic development of the
region, basic directions of investment policy of the Autonomous Okrug
were discussed.
Sergei Mironov stressed that experience of Ugra in
the issues of resources dependence leaving must be studied. He also said
that Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug is successful in solving of
demographic policy problems. Speaker of Upper chamber of the Parliament
informed the Governor that the initiative of state authority bodies of
the region, directed to provide pensioners of the North, leaving the
Okrug, is supported at last - in the RF Government it was made a
decision to use 1.3 factor in calculating pensions for people, leaving
the permanent place of residence to other regions of Russia.

Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko made a report "On condition and
prospects of social and economic development of the Khanty-Mansiysk
Autonomous Okrug" at the meeting of Federation Council.
Head of the region mentioned that Autonomous Okrug
takes strategic position, placing at the crossing of air, water and
motor transport corridors, connecting Arctic, Europe and Asia, and it
possesses the largest resources of hydrocarbon raw material and other
minerals. He stressed that Ugra population makes 1% of the population of
Russia and this 1 percent forms one fifth of the country's budget.
 Head
of the region described economic situation on the Okrug as well. Ugra is
an absolute leader in Russia regarding the scope of grass regional
product. President's message of 2003 to double GDP was executed by Okrug
in 2005. 59
oil companies, producing 57% of Russian oil and over 7.5% of world
oil, operate in the Okrug. Soon the 9-billion ton of oil will be
produced from Ugra bowels.
In his report Governor accented the problems,
existing in the Okrug in connection with a large industrial production.
Firstly it is a heavy influence on nature, ecological environment.
Alexander Filipenko told about the necessity of investment activity
strengthening, about new productions development as follows: deep
processing of wood, wooden housing, petrochemistry, metal mining
industry.

 Yesterday
Days of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug were held in the Federation Council of
the RF Federal Assembly.
Ugra exhibition, the most scale event of these days,
was placed on the first floor of the building. It represented 6 basic
directions of region's activity: nature management and ecology, social
sphere, investment programs and programs on work with small-in-number
peoples of the North, legislation of the Federation member.
Information stands of the exhibition demonstrated
complex positive changes in economic and social and cultural development
of the Okrug, specific actions of authority bodies, directed to perfect
life level of Ugra population.
 Chairman
of the Federation Council of the RF Federal Assembly Sergei Mironov ,
opening the exhibition, said that Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug is an
outstanding member of the Russian Federation. All is done for people
there, all richest resources of the Okrug are use to the benefit of its
citizens. And it is regional heads' contribution.
Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko said that such
events assist in strengthening of relations among the state authority
bodies of all levels, give an opportunity to generalize and distribute
positive experience, improve information level of public about regions'
activity.
