The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On October 25-26, presentation of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug will be held in the Federation Council of Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

Its objective is to demonstrate positive changes of social, economic and cultural development of Ugra, rise of society's information level about activity of authority bodies of the region. The event will be organized in accordance with the order of the Chairman of Federation Council on holding of RF members' Days in the second chamber of parliament of Russia.

Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko and speaker of the Autonomous Okrug Duma Vasily Sondykov will report at the presentation. A large exhibition, representing activity of the Okrug power in social sphere, nature management, ecology, lawmaking, investments attraction and innovations implementation, support of indigenous peoples of the North.

Press conference for journalists of federal mass media with participation of the Governor Alexander Filipenko, chairman of the Committee of Federation Council  Gennady Oleinik, representative of Ugra in the Federation Council Viktor Pichugov.

Today meeting of the council on selection of Ugra Governor's grant receivers in the sphere of in-bound tourism and satellite infrastructure was held in Khanty-Mansiysk. First deputy Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Okrug Natalia Zapadnova headed the Council.

21 programs were selected to the final from 9 nominations and sub-nominations. Council members are to define those who succeed in development of in-bound, ethnographic, gainful, sports tourism, improving of the corresponding infrastructure, to mark competitors for Governor's grants, representing opportunities for family rest, and projects of mass media on the theme of tourism as well.

Heads of the contest program are to make a brief presentation of their offerings during the meeting, to prove their actuality and demand of population in and out of Ugra.

Council members were interested in issues, concerning mechanism of represented projects realization, interaction of participants of tourindustry of Ugra and objectives on which competitors for Governor's grant of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug  plan to direct cash assets.

Natalia Zapadnova paid a special attention during presentations of the projects to observance of permissive norms and provision of tourists' safety in the Autonomous Okrug.

Today deputy Chairman of the Government on issues of offenses prevention Vyacheslav Kozlovsky held a regular meeting of Commission of traffic safety provision.

Heads of the Departments of the Autonomous Okrug, head of the Okrug Board of State Inspection of Traffic Safety Sergei Algazin, representatives of road services of the region too part in the meeting.

Those who met discussed the current situation with accident rate at the roads of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. According to Sergei Algazin, for 9 months of 2007 the number of road accidents at Ugra roads decreased by 2.1% and accounted for over 2000 accidents. At the same time the number of lost (223) in the region decreased by 2.6% in comparison with the indices of the previous year.

Reports of the Okrug road services and departments about work on provision of proper condition of roads in Ugra and preparation of passenger motor road enterprises to winter season, were announced.

These days a group of experts of World bank for reconstruction and development are visiting institutions of education of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

Members of educational and expert centers of Great Britain, Belgium, Italy, heads and scientific members of state institution - Higher school of economy, Institute of regional economy problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academy of social management of the Moscow Region, Aerospace university, teachers' training university of Samara are within the structure of the group. Head of the unit of social programs of Moscow representative office of World bank for reconstruction and development Isak Frumin heads the expert group.

To research the Ugra education system completely specialists are to visit institutions of Khanty-Mansiysk, Nefteyugansk, Surgut, Nizhnevartovsk, Khanty-Mansiysk and Nefteyugansky Districts.

According to specialists from the Okrug Department of education and science, results of the research of the Autonomous Okrug experience will be used during the development of purpose-oriented programs, directed to modernize basic directions of educational system of the Russian Federation in total and Ugra in particular.

It must be mentioned that visit of experts of World bank for reconstruction and development to Khanty-Mansiysk is held on October 15-18, in the frameworks of All-Russian educational Forum "Novaya shkola" (New school).
