Today Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko being a member of "Edunaya Rossia" (United Russia) party and Presidium of General council of the party, took part in its joint meeting.

Results of the passed elections of State Duma deputies were summarized, they were regarded as successful. Chairman of the party Boris Gryslov expressed his gratitude to all who had voted for "Edinaya Rossia".

Today in Moscow Governor of the Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko and director general of ITAR-TASS Vitaly Ignatenko signed an agreement on cooperation for the next year.

Representatives of regional commission on issues of mercy on Ugra territory took part in XI Russian-German seminar "Criminal procedure, execution and mercy procedure".

Poll "Position of women in Ugra" was made in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

Okrug Committee of social and political analysis and public relations and Labour and Social Protection Department have made analysis. Over 100 respondents from 10 municipal entities of the region took part in it. Results of expert pool prove that absolute majority of respondents (79.4%) suppose that Ugra Government pays enough attention to family problems.

On December 20 the XI Okrug assembly of indigenous peoples of the North will be opened in Khanty-Mansiysk.

It is planned that Governor of the Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko will take part in its work.

Over 80 aboriginals of the region and representatives of public organizations "Salvation of Ugra", "Traditional folk crafts masters' union "Sorni esh", "Reindeer-breeders' union of the Autonomous Okrug" will meet in the Okrug center. They will result the work of the past year and discuss prospects of further activity on ethnic-cultural heritage keeping and strengthening of Khanty and Mansi people's position.

Regular meeting of regional commission on mercy at which applications of two offenders were observed, was held in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Members of commission considered conscience of guilt and whole-hearted repentance, reparation of damages, proper behavior in correctional facility and serving of a half term of sentence, and decided to address Ugra Governor Alexander Filipenko to short the term of two offender to 1 year.
