The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko had a meeting
with the participants and guests of the X International Festival of TV
Programs and TV films "Golden Tambourine".
At the beginning of the traditional meeting the head
of the region told about the basic indicators of the development of the
Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug. Alexander Filipenko told about demography. At
present the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug is ranked the third in the country
concerning the natural increase of the population after Chechnya and
Dagestan. The reason of tempos of the population’s growth is social
optimism. People are not afraid of having children, and look into the
future with confidence. "The Autonomous Okrug is still the leader under
several economic indicators: last year we produced the gross regional
product for the amount of 1 trillion 600 billion rubles, it is Moscow,
St.Petersburg and half of the Sverdlovsk Oblast together… Taxes in the
amount of 1 trillion 56 billion rubles were transferred to the federal
budget by enterprises of Ugra. It is almost ¼ of federal revenues", -
said the head of the region. Alexander Filipenko noted that in Ugra
there is necessary intellectual, economic potential to build prospects
of the Okrug development.
Tourism caused the interest of the meeting
participants. The head of the region said that last year about 500 ths.
tourists had visited the Okrug, it is by 40 % more than the year before.
According to the experts’ prognosis, the total figure will grow twice in
the near future. He said that it is not enough. For the tourist industry
of the region to work intensively, several millions people should come
to Ugra annually. The "Golden Tambourine" Festival is an important event
in the life of the Autonomous Okrug. As many other events, held in Ugra,
the TV Festival promotes to the development of event tourism, business
tourism and attracts more and more people", - said Alexander Filipenko.

1696 children’s camps of Ugra could accommodate
over 80 ths. young people of Ugra while summer vacations.
Children’ s rest was organized in several directions,
including health-improvement, educational and leisure programs. About
250 ths. children under 18 years spent vacations at school camps,
leisure centers, sports grounds of the Okrug towns and districts.
Organizational forms of the rest in the Okrug are
spread to over 54% of Ugra children. ¼ of children from the total number
of the youth under 18 had a rest under climatic favorable conditions of
Russia and CIS countries. 7% of children spent summer in Tyumen and in
the south of the Oblast, about 2% abroad.
In Ugra in 2006 the events, connected with holding
the children’s health-improvement campaign, over 440 million rubles are
planned to come from various financial sources to be spent for tours,
travel expenses. In the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug there are mechanisms of
providing children’s safety on their way and while having a rest at
camps. Special attention is paid to the issues of insurance of children
and teenagers from accidents, when they not at home.
Annually agreements are concluded between the
services of sanitary and epidemic control of the Okrug and areas where
children spend summer vacations. These documents make it possible to
control the implementation of conditions of meals, accommodation of
children at institutions of rest and health improvement.
