The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Anders Besseberg expressed the words of gratitude to Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko for the worthy conduct of the IBU Congress-2006 in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Anders Besseberg said that "so far the IBU Congresses had not been organized on such a high level". The IBU family is admired at the professionalism of the Organizing Committee members and Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in organizing the international meeting. Everything what took place in a hospitable Ugra was beyond the Congress participants’ expectation.

"I am glad that the region and people of Ugra support and develop our biathlon sports not just organizing sports events of the highest level, but providing the stable base and infrastructure to make political decisions in the sphere of sports", - is said in the letter.

At the end of the letter President of the International Biathlon Union wished the hosts of the Congress health, peace, prosperity and also further development of biathlon for Ugra friends and IBU.

On Sunday the X International Festival of TV Programs and TV films "Golden Tambourine" starts in the capital of Ugra – Khanty-Mansiysk.

The opening ceremony will start at the Grand Hall of the Concert and Theatre Center "Ugra-Classic" at 18.00 and be finished with the grandiose show "Sounds of the drum".

At 16.00 the townsmen, guests and participants of the Festival will be met by the trade fair "Gifts of Ugra". They will be able to purchase traditional production of national communities of indigenous people, souvenirs, made by craftsmen. On Friday the members of the Jury will arrive by the evening flight of the UTair company from Moscow to Khanty-Mansiysk. The next day they will start watching works of over 100 nominees, selected to participate in the final. The Jury will be headed by President of the International Academy of Television and Radio, head of the Journalism Chair at the Higher School of Economics, laureate of the State Premiums of the USSR, premiums of Russia’s Journalists’ Union, Honored Figure of Arts of the RF, a member of the Board of the Russian Television Academy Anatoli Lysenko. The members of the Jury – a film director, laureate of the National prize "TEFI", a member of the Russian Television Academy Evgeni Ginzburg, Chairman of the Directors’ Board of the TRK "Afontovo", laureate of the National prize "TEFI" Sergei Kim, a writer, member of the Petrov Academy of Sciences, Honored worker of culture of Russia Novomir Patrikeev, a member of the International Academy of television and radio, laureate of the National prize "TEFI", editor-in-chief of the TV channel "Culture" Arcadi Bederov, a film director, author of over 100 documentaries, laureate of numerous international and All-Russia festivals, laureate of the "Golden Tambourine" Festival Vladimir Rotenberg, a documentary maker, a member of the Russia’s Journalists’ Union, laureate of the National prize "TEFI" Igor Shadkhan, a member of Russia’s Composers’ Union, a composer and arranger Grigori Fain. This year two foreign representatives – a journalist-reporter of the Hungarian national channel "DUNA-TV" from Budapest and a member of the Center of the Eurasian researches in the National Institute of Oriental Languages and civilizations, French writer.

"We were surprised with the unusual popularity of the TV Festival", - said the President of the "Golden Tambourine" Lyubov Korneeva. "This year over 200 participants and guests are coming to us. It gives special responsibility to everyone who is involved in organizing and holding numerous events, included into the TV Festival agenda. The level is rather high and therefore our anxiety is understandable".

Tomorrow the press-center will start working in the Wellness-Hotel "Yugorskaya Dolina" and employees of the "Golden Tambourine" will inform about the TV forum activity in Khanty-Mansiysk.
