The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On October 4-5 the presentation of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra will take place in St.Petersburg.

The relevant decree about that was signed by the head of the region Alexander Filipenko.

The event is held to strengthen and expand the cooperation with the northern capital of Russia where in May of 2006 it was opened the representative office of the Autonomous Okrug. The demonstration of the social and economic achievements of the Okrug should promote to establishing business contacts and implementation of mutually beneficial projects among the enterprises of Ugra and St.Petersburg.

The agenda of the visit of the Ugra official delegation to St.Petersburg includes the joint meeting of the Governments of both regions, discussion and signing the agreement on commercial and economic, research and technical, cultural cooperation for 2006-2011, round tables with representatives of the executive authorities and business circles of the city, press-conference of the Governors Valentina Matvienko and Alexander Filipenko. Besides, the exhibition will be held in St.Petersburg to tell about the tourist, research and investment potential of the Autonomous Okrug, movies about culture and traditional lifestyle of the indigenous peoples of the North will be demonstrated, the performances of folk groups of Ugra.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

In 2006 over 200 ths. schoolchildren of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug are provided with the free hot meals.

Including 30 ths. children from poor, large families, children who are in trustees’ keeping, adopted children, orphans have meals twice in the morning and at lunch time. The rest schoolchildren have hot breakfasts.

In 2007 about 187 ths. schoolchildren in Ugra will get free breakfast, 28,7 ths. children of the privileged categories will get free lunch.

All the schoolchildren of secondary schools of the Autonomous Okrug are provided with hot meals at the expense of the regional budget in accordance with the local law which entered into force since April 1, 2006. In 2006 over one billion rubles has been spent from the Ugra budget for this purpose. The same amount will be spent in 2007.

"At present in the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug much attention is paid at the observance of the sanitary and epidemiological requirements at canteens of educational institutions, development of the network of inter-school meals facilities and their specialists will make the optimal menu, form the full-value food intake for schoolchildren of different ages. The health of the younger generation mostly depends on it", - said the Deputy Chairman of the Ugra Government on issues of education, science and external relations Elena Chepurnykh.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

This new schooling year the educational institutions of Ugra are provided with necessary literature, textbooks by 100 %.

At present the Department of Education and Science of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug cooperates with eight publishing-houses and six suppliers in terms of purchasing training literature for schools. The order amounts to over 74 million rubles totally. 56 million rubles of this amount were spent for textbooks for secondary schools. Almost 19 million rubles were spent to purchase special literature for vocational schools.

Besides, soon the advanced equipment, sports equipment, classrooms of Chemistry, laboratory equipment, office appliances for the amount of 54 million rubles totally will be delivered to Ugra educational institutions.

These events are being carried out in the framework of the Okrug program "Development of education of Ugra for 2004-2007".

The traditional agricultural exhibition which will be devoted to the 75-th anniversary of the agribusiness complex of Ugra is being prepared in Ugra.

The relevant decree about that was signed by the head of the region Alexander Filipenko at the end of July.

The exhibition will take place on October 18-20 at the Expo-Center. The tender to organize it was won by the company "Ugorskiye contracts".

The agrarian workers are preparing for the exhibition, as they expect coming of their colleagues from many regions of Russia. The number of Ugra agrarian companies and enterprises has increased by twice which would like to demonstrate their historic background, achievements.
