The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
Heroes-explorers, veterans of the oil and gas
industry, those who had made a great contribution to the development and
exploration of Ugra and West-Siberian fuel and energy complex are
remembered today at the capital of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko, deputies of the
Okrug Duma, mayors of the municipalities, Honorable citizens of the
region participated in the flower ceremony for the monument "Ugra".
Then the ceremony of unveiling the commemorative
planks to prominent participants of the Okrug energy industry was held
on the square of the Museum of Geology, Oil & Gas.
Alexander Filipenko congratulated the present upon
this event and said that "today the stars are unveiled in honor of
people who had made great contribution into the development of Ugra".
Contemporary inhabitants of the region should remember and be proud of
the Heroes of socialist labor Alexander Nikolaevich Filimonov, Semen
Nikitich Urusov, Nikolai Konstantinovich Baibakov, Laureate of the Lenin
Premium Alexander Grogorievich Bystritski, Doctor of the Geological and
Mineralogical Sciences Viktor Grogorievich Vasiliev. Their names are
written on the stars of the commemorative planks. "Today we are present
at the event which has become a good tradition. I think that the names
of prominent people who had explored West Siberia, discovered
oil-producing fields, are well-known to the majority people of Ugra. I
am confident that their life is worthy of being repeated by future
generations", - said Alexander Filipenko.

The first football tournament for the Cup of the
Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra was opened on
September 8 in Khanty-Mansiysk.
In the competitions 13 combined teams from the
administrations and organizations of the Okrug municipalities, and also
the combined team of the Ugra Government participate in it. The total
number of the participants is 147 people. The tournament will be held
while two days. The hosts devoted it to the celebration of the Day of
Oilmen and Gasmen.
Welcoming the participants of the competitions the
First Deputy Chairman of the Ugra Government on issues of social policy
Natalia Zapadnova said: "Physical culture and sports are an integral
part of life of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in fact not only in
words. Over 5 ths. children and teenagers play football in Ugra. This
kind of sports becomes more popular and the number of football-players
is growing due to such competitions as the Governor’s Football Cup".
The teams which will become the prize-winners will be
awarded with cups, diplomas and valuable prizes.
