The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

Today on October 18 in Khanty-Mansiysk it was held the first meeting of the Coordinating Council of representative local authorities of the municipalities and Okrug Duma of the fourth convocation.

The Council includes representatives of the town districts, municipal districts and urban settlements.

Opening the meeting of the Coordinating Council, the Chairman of the Duma of the Autonomous Okrug Vasili Sondykov said that the Council was founded to provide the interaction between the power authorities and coordination of the activities of the local authorities: "It will prepare its recommendations for the promotion of federal and regional draft laws, proposals about the social and economic policy of the municipalities".

The head of the Division on local self-government of the Governor’s Administration Alexei Krylov told to the meeting participants about the implementation of Federal law 131 and expressed hope for productive joint work. "I hope for further joint work. In spite that we represent different branches of power, the task is common - to reform the local self-government to improve the well-being of the Okrug people".

Besides, the principles of the municipal budgets formation for 2007 were discussed at the meeting.

Today it was opened the Forum "Agribusiness complex of Ugra - 75 years" at the new Exhibition Center "Ugra-Expo". It was started with the opening of the exhibition of products, manufactured by agricultural enterprises of the Autonomous Okrug. The Deputy Chairman of the Government Sergei Kuchin announced the welcoming speech and congratulation from Governor Alexander Filipenko to participants and guests of the jubilee events.

"Today’s forum proves that the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug is a full-value agribusiness region of Russia", - said Sergei Kuchin. "We have forty thousand individual farms, about three hundred farms, tens of big enterprises. Over 40 enterprises of the agribusiness industry and national communities represent their achievements at this exhibition. The implementation of the national priority project will allow to give an additional impulse in the development of agriculture. Here, at the Forum it is obvious that many our neighbors are interested in it as half of the exhibits belong to the guests from other regions of the country".

The head of the Okrug Agribusiness Complex Division Lev Kalashnikov informed that the Government of Ugra had recently adopted the draft law and money from the Okrug budget for the development of the branch will increase by twice next year - from 250 million rubles to 560 million rubles. Subsidizing the production from the budget allows to agricultural producers to increase the capitalization of the production from the budget, to make its modernization and restructuring actively. It greatly reduces expenses. The main direction of the Okrug agribusiness complex activity is considered strengthening of the competitive ability of Ugra goods and commodities on the market of high-quality goods, provision of the population with fresh, ecologically clean products. At the same time the task, put by Governor of Ugra - the development of traditional occupations - fishing, hunting, reindeer herding, picking up wild plants. To provide the people of remote localities with a free access to the market, the Government of the Okrug and municipalities promote them in creating a new network of cooperatives. Only on the first stage of the Okrug law implementation on the realization of the national project there were created four ones, though the program stipulates two ones. These measures as the activation of the farmers in strengthening the material base of their farm prove the high interest of Ugra peasants in further development of the agribusiness industry which faces now the growth in quantity and quality.
