The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On October 5 the first half of the day was spent by Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko at the St.Petersburg State Mining Institute where he met with its Rector, Professor Vladimir Litvinenko. He in detail told about the Institute, its research and intellectual potential. Governor and members of the delegation viewed laboratories, classrooms of the oldest institute, unique collection of minerals. Totally there are 7,5 students at the institute who study in 28 specialties. Respectively there is a wide range of opportunities to master mining in such Subjects as geophysics, geology, geodesy.

Alexander Filipenko made a report for students - representatives of almost all the faculties of the institute. He got acquainted the youth with the history of the northern region, its economic potential, told about the mega-project "Ural Industrial - Ural Polar", developed in Ugra and it will provide great opportunities for graduates of the institute in the future.

There was also an interesting talk of the Rector of the Ugra State Institute Yuri Reutov and Rector of the Mining Institute Vladimir Litvinenko about further cooperation and experience exchange in the work of these two higher educational institutions.

On October 4 Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug Alexander Filipenko met with leaders of 10 biggest mass media of the North-West region including "Vesti RTR", Information Agencies "ITAR-TASS", "INTERFAX", "ROSBALT" and others.

There was an interesting talk about priorities of the state policy of Ugra, social and economic development of the region and its intellectual potential, forms and principles of interaction with mass media. Representatives of mass media of the Northern capital expressed readiness for cooperation with information structures of the Autonomous Okrug.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:

On October 11 to 13 the VIII specialized exhibition "Energy saving of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra - 2006" will be held at the new Expo-center of the Okrug capital.

The decree about that was signed by Governor, Chairman of the Government Alexander Filipenko. Its hosts are Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Ugra, Regional Tariff Service, Department of Housing and Communal Services Development, JSC "Exhibitions. Conferences".

Organizations of the oil and gas industry, housing and communal services will participate in the exhibition, aimed at experience exchange and promoting the effective use of the Okrug energy resources. In the exhibition framework there will be the workshop devoted to energy saving in the housing and communal industry.

Besides, the awarding ceremony will take place where the winners of the contest for the best achievements in the sphere of energy saving will be awarded.

"I am leaving satisfied with the good work, held jointly in the Okrug", - was the assessment of the staff officers’ trainings by the Head of the Pirovolzhsko-Urals regional center on civil defense, emergency situations and response liquidations Lieutenant-General Petr Tretyakov.

For the first time on the post-Soviet period the activity of commissions of emergency situations in the peace time and transfer of economy to the work while the wartime period was exercised in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. Trainings became a good school for everyone who is responsible for people’s safety - from mayors of the municipalities up to the workers of the specialized services. General said that he had not found a single indifferent person, everyone understood the aim and goal of tasks. He noted the attention, rendered by the Ugra authorities to the development of legal and material base, problem of schools and educational institutions safety and that the Okrug spends more money than the other 20 regions of the Privolzhsko-Urals regions altogether. He positively assessed the creation of the air-mobile station, equipped with all the means of communications including cosmic, and also the availability of great number of helicopter sites which provide the quickness in the rescue and other bodies activity under complicated transport conditions of the region.

Deputy Chairman of the Government Vyacheslav Novitski informed the results of the staff officers’ trainings will be analyzed in detail at the special meeting, chaired by Ugra Governor.
