The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
Today in Slovakia Governor, Chairman of the Government of the
Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra Alexander Filipenko and Chair of
the Banska Bystritsa Oblast Milan Murgash signed the Protocol on
Intentions.
Commenting on this event, Milan Murgash said that the Protocol would
become a good basis for perspective cooperation between two regions.
Governor of Ugra said that the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug was
possessed of great economic and investment potential and ready to
consider the possibility of Slovakian business-companies’ participation
in the region’s economy development. He named housing construction,
economy, oriented to the development of commercial and investment
relations, tourism, education and science as priorities for cooperation.
Cooperation between two regions will be carried out via the information
regular exchange, joint meetings, negotiations and consultations. The
working group with representatives from both regions will coordinate the
implementation of the present Protocol.
After a year is passed from the moment of signing the Protocol, the
Parties will consider the possibility to conclude the agreement on
commercial-economic, scientific and technical and cultural cooperation.

On
November 26-28 the official delegation of the Ugra Government, headed by
the member of the Council of Federation from the Khanty-Mansiysk
Autonomous Okrug-Ugra Gennadi Oleynik participate in the I international
conference “Challenges for creating clusters and innovation
partnerships”, held in Valencia (Spain).
The
hosts are the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship of the
European Commission.
The
participants exchange experience on practical application of innovation
and advanced methods in the sphere of IT-technologies.
Over
350 delegates from 22 countries will discuss prospects of the new
technologies application in construction, textile industry, automobile
industry, and also possibilities for creating new partnerships to
increase the industrial potential of enterprises.

On
November 27 Governor of the Okrug Alexander Filipenko held several
working meetings in Moscow.
He
discussed the issues of the preparation for the election campaign to the
Oblast Duma with the Deputy Leader of the RF President’s Administration
Vladimir Surkov.
In
the talk with President of the Science Towns Development Council and
Defence Enterprises Support League Anatoli Dolgolaptev he discussed the
possible ways of interaction of fuel and energy system companies of Ugra
and enterprises of military and industrial system of Russia.
Governor Filipenko discussed with the Vice-President of the Russian
media community Vitali Dymarski the development of information space of
the Okrug and support to this process by top federal mass media.

On
December 1 the forestries of Russia will celebrate its 180-th
anniversary and the Okrug system of forest management – 15-th
anniversary.
Independent bodies of the management were created at a new constituent
entity of the Russian Federation – Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra
and in accordance with the decree of the Chair of the Executive
Committee Alexander Filipenko the whole forest fund was transferred from
the “Tyumenlesprom” to the “Khanty-Mansiyskleskhoz”. From this moment
all the timber activities is carried out on behalf of Ugra by 19 timber
farms.
For
these years 62,5 ths. ha of new forest sites have been created, forest
– restoration works have been done on the area of 534,5 ths. ha, about
37 million young trees have been planted. As a result of these
activities 932,8 ths. ha were planted by trees.
70
million cubic m of timber were logged for the industrial needs of the
region.
Employees of the Division – today there are about one thousand of them –
put out about 8 ths. fires in forests, brought to light 2,5 ths.
violations.
By
its forests area Ugra is the fourth in the Russian Federation, the
forest plays a great role in economy of the Okrug. Therefore it as made
a decision to reform the Forestry Division into the Department from
January 1, 2007. In accordance with the decree of the Governor Alexander
Filipenko the leader of the Forestry Agency Evgeni Platonov is appointed
the Department Director. |
