The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
Today at the Concert and Theatre Center "Ugra-Classic"
it was opened the III International Investment Forum. Over 200
representatives of Russian and foreign banks, companies, investment and
mortgage agencies.
Addressing with the welcoming speech to the
participants of the forum, Governor Alexander Filipenko said: "It has
become a tradition to gather here in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk for the
third time already. People who gathered here are interested in making
business in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in particular. The
previous two forums were important for us - school of enterprising,
ideas exchange, further development of business".
In this regard according to the assessment of
Governor, the old land of Ugra is still the region of exploration. It
opens wide opportunities to energetic people for the region’s
development. The authorities are aimed at improving the citizens’ life
quality. He noted the high investment attraction of the region where the
average age of people is 30 years and the number of the employable
population is almost half the total number of the population. It is
unique in this regard.
The dynamics of the gross regional product growth
demonstrates the stability of the Ugra economy development - this year
in comparison with 2001 it will increase almost by 4 times and will
amount to 1965,1 billion rubles. Concerning the gross regional product
per citizen, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug is ahead even the USA.
Investments into the authorized capital for the last five years have
increased by 2,5 times and this year they will amount to almost 260
billion rubles. For the successful work of investors in the Autonomous
Okrug, additionally to the federal legislation there were adopted
regional laws, it was created the available database about contests and
tenders, held by the Ugra Government. The investment potential of the
Okrug greatly exceeds today’s indicators. In Governor’s opinion, it can
be estimated in fact in the amount of 12 billion USD minimum and in this
connection he expressed confidence that this forum will add arguments in
favor of the prospects of investors’ activity in the Okrug.
"The Government of Ugra in its "Strategy of social
and economic development until 2020" put the task - to change its
structure and to make it from mono-branch to the diversified. It can be
called diversification but very carefully as we are not going to
decrease the amounts of hydrocarbons extraction but we seriously intend
to grow due to other branches - development of mining, production of
pure materials and etc.", - said the head of the region.
He in detail told about huge investment potential of
such branches as power engineering, timber industry, housing
construction, gas processing, and introduced the list of new industrial
enterprises and facilities which are under construction in Ugra. Special
attention was paid by Alexander Filipenko to the program of Pre-Par
Urals natural resources development and estimated the possible
investments to create the industrial basis and transport ways in the
amount of 42 billion USD.
At the ed of the report Governor of Ugra said: "While
the work of this forum over 40 investment projects will be presented to
you in the totally amount of 500 billion USD. I am confident that there
are all opportunities for everybody in Ugra who is interested in
effective business".

Today Governor Alexander Filipenko signed two
agreements on cooperation between the Government of Ugra and the
companies which participate in the III International Investment Forum,
held in Khanty-Mansiysk.
The agreement with the holding group "Dankner Group",
represented by a member of the Directors’ Board Gil Dankner, stipulates
its participation in creating in the region of gas-chemical and relevant
facilities. The Israel company is supposed to design and construct some
plants in Ugra engaged in methanol production, formaldehyde and
formaldehyde and carbamide resins, detergents, melamine and things made
of it for the timber processing industry.
Answering the question what made him cooperate with
the Autonomous Okrug, Mr. Dankner said: "When I for the first time came
to your region, I understood that here I should work as Governor and
local authorities were very positive attitude to our proposals about
cooperation. Business is based first of all on relations".
The open joint-stock company "Yukon-Gas" (Director
General - Oleg Gareev) expressed readiness to be engaged in getting the
associate petroleum gas from producing companies, its processing and
supplies of gas fuel to consumers. It will build engineering
communications for that in the villages of the native Kondinski District.

The Okrug Governor’s press-service informs:
On November 28 the official delegation of the
Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, headed by Governor
Alexander Filipenko, will visit the Slovakian and Czech Republics.
Signing the Protocols on Intentions between the
Government of Ugra and Bansko Bystritsa Selg-Governing Oblast of the
Slovakian Republic and also with the Administration of the
Yuzhno-Moravski Oblast of the Czech Republic is planned. Protocols state
cooperation in such spheres as commerce, construction, culture,
education, oil- and gas-producing industry.
After one year from the date of signing the Parties
will consider the opportunity to conclude more concrete agreements on
commercial-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
