At the III International Investment Forum, expected to be held in the capital of Ugra on November 22-23, about 300 participants will take part.

The Deputy Chairman of the Okrug Government Kirill Morozov announced about that today at the meeting of the Organizing Committee.

The members of the Organizing Committee discussed the program, determined basic goals and objectives of the conference, worded the activity of the workshops.

While two days the forum participants in detail will present their investment possibilities of the region in the field of prospecting, extraction, oil refining and gas processing, construction, timber processing industry, transport industry, implementation of the Pre-Polar Ural project. Potential investors can in detail get acquainted with the projects in the sphere of housing construction, construction and housing and communal services sector, petro- and gas chemistry, power engineering. While the round tables they will assess the degree of their participation in the tourism development, balneology, hotel business of Ugra.

The hosts are confident that the forum will promote to the experience exchange about the ways and mechanisms for a rapid economic growth and increase of the country’s economy competitive ability in general and in the Autonomous Okrug in particular.

The Okrug workshop "Realization of measures of the demographic policy in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug" was started in the capital of Ugra.

Heads of the departments, specialists of the units, responsible for the implementation of social programs of territorial subdivisions of the Okrug Department of Labor and Population’s Social Protection, members of the Coordinating Council on issues of the demographic policy participate in the seminar.

The agenda of the seminar includes reports by representatives of research sociological institutes of Russian and Okrug Department of Labor and Population’s Social Protection, round table with participation of Ugra experts.

In the Autonomous Okrug the positive tendencies of the demographic development are observed: the decreased indicators of the children’s mortality and mortality rate, the increased childbirth rate, the number of divorces is decreased, the number of the employable population is increased. Maria Krasko, Deputy Director of the Okrug Department of Labor and Population’s Social Protection, it is stipulated by mainly results of the effective social policy of Ugra Government. Its basic principle is the increased childbirth rate, decreased mortality rate, preserved positive demographic balance.

The positive dynamics is achieved via the development of the healthcare system, education, and social protection of the population, what is promoted by the successful realization of priority national projects in Ugra. In these spheres Ugra develops its own programs of the population’s social support, and successfully cooperates with such international organizations as UN, UNICEF, EC.

The Government of Ugra adopted programs, aimed at support of the family, motherhood and childhood. Special attention is paid to the increased authority of the family and traditional values, since 2002 the program "Mother’s glory" has been successfully working and 49 mothers who bring up five and more children have been awarded in its framework.

In specialists’ opinion very significant is the function of entire and timely informing the population. In the Internet there are the information portals, devoted to children’s. youth policy, priority national projects. The Okrug Department of Labor and Population’s Social Protection actively uses the form of the Internet to establish reverse contact with citizens.

In conclusion Maria Krasko expressed hope that in the Okrug high demographic indicators will preserve and regular seminars for Okrug specialists will provide successful realization of the social policy in the municipalities.

On November 17, 2006 the Ugra State University celebrates the fifth anniversary.

It is a short period of time but much work had been done on turning the Ugra State University into the university of the innovation type in accordance with the needs of the labor market and priority directions of the social and economic development of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

The number of students increased from 2035 in 2002 to 4760 in 2006. 1104 specialists graduated from the university and now are successfully working at enterprises and institutions of the Okrug.

Since 2005 candidates of sciences in 10 specialties has been started and the amount of research activity at the University increase annually by 2,5-3 times.

In spite of the young age, the Ugra State University gets the public recognition. At the contest, held by the Okrug Chamber of Commerce and Industry "Leader of business in Ugra" the Ugra State University became the winner in the nomination "Educational activities" in 2004 and 2005.

Besides, last year the International Academy of Quality and Marketing and Independent Public Council awarded the University with the Diploma of the contest laureate in the nomination "100 best higher educational institutions of Russia".

All that became possible due to the qualified and creative activities of most employees of the university and also great support of the Okrug Government.

On November 17 at the gala meeting of the university Scientific Council the employees who made the greatest contribution into becoming and development of the university, will be awarded with awards and titles of honor of the RF Ministry of Education and Science, Okrug Governor and Duma, Mayor of the town and Duma of Khanty-Mansiysk, Certificates of Honor on behalf of the Rector.
