The year 2006 was marked with many important events in the life of our country, our Okrug. The Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Ugra in 2006 strengthened its positions and made a great progress in social and economic development, made a great contribution into the economy of the country, growth of Russian citizens’ life quality.

Among constituent entities of the Russian Federation we are the first regarding the oil production, electric power engineering generation, taxes and dues payment to the budgetary system of the country. We occupy the second position regarding gas production, investments to the fixed capital and the third position regarding the population’s natural increase. The year 2006 was significant for us as the beginning of the priority national projects implementation.

I can say with confidence that the last year was lived in a worthy way, we managed to achieve much, to provide a stable and dynamic development of all the municipalities in Ugra.

Fruitful work of each of us, my countrymen, constructive multilateral cooperation of the public authorities, representatives of business determine the continuous and subsequent social and economic reforms in the Okrug.

I am grateful to you for the work have been done, for the support and confidence in success, for your aspiration to high achievements in all what fills in the life in Ugra – labor, creativity, sports, understanding and strengthening friendly, human relations.

Let the new year become for all of us the year of good luck, positive events, let your dreams come true.

Altogether we solve the most important social-economic, demographic goals for the vital activity of the Autonomous Okrug, objectives, aimed at improving Ugra people’s quality life. Last year the Duma of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra adopted over 800 laws and decrees in these directions.

The adopted laws and target-oriented programs are aimed at radical improving living conditions of all people of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

We are looking into the future with confidence and we have all the reasons for optimism – solid legislative basis, clear ad concrete plans of social and economic development, real opportunities for them to come true!

On December 27 Governor of Ugra Alexander Filipenko and Head of the Sverdlovsk Railway – branch of the JSC “Russian Railways” Shevket Shaidullin signed the social and economic agreement on interaction.

The document stipulates determination of the agreed positions, directions and forms of mutually beneficial cooperation providing social and economic development of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and implementing production and economic indicators of the Sverdlovsk railway and also satisfaction of the population’s needs, needs of organizations involved in providing railway transport services in the Autonomous Okrug.

It was declared for the first time that experts of the Sverdlovsk Railway will take part in the development of the Concept and Program of the Pre-Polar Urals Development, based on the progressive development of transport and energy infrastructure.

The Parties declared about their joint work on reconstruction and construction of railway stations at the stations in Pyt-Yakh, Surgut, Nyagan and Priobye, equipping the railway stations, implementing the tariff policy, socially significant projects.

In his comments after signing the document Shevket Shaidullin said that it had become a good tradition at the end of the year to sign the agreement on interaction and cooperation in Ugra: “The program of the development of the Sverdlovsk Railway transport infrastructure appeared due to the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and our success much depends on the region where the economy and social policy are mainly balanced”.
